SPICED PEACH GIN & TONIC RECIPE
To spice up that old Gin + Tonic all you have to do is look toward the Spaniards. The Spanish style Gin tonic throws away the obvious high ball glassware, and the ampersand, opting for the beautifully crafted shape of a gin balloon or burgundy wine glass.
Using the ornate glass not only showcases fresh fruit, herbs, and spices, but also plays into the experience of aroma filling your palate with each sip.
To create the Spiced Peach Gin & Tonic, we created silk infusion bags filled with spices, fruit, and other botanicals that envelop your senses while you imbibe.
Here's what you will need:
Empty drawstring tea bags or heat sealing silk infusion bags.
Balloon or Burgundy glass
NOLET'S Silver Gin
Quality tonic water
Your favorite spices
Fresh Peach slices
Pick out your favorite spices! ( We used Green Cardamom, Cinchona Bark, Star Anise, Juniper Berries, and Cinnamon dusted & dehydrated peach bits) To make the cinnamon dusted & dehydrated peach bits we cut fresh peach into small bits, sprayed with cardamom oil, dusted in cinnamon, and dehydrated the bits for 8 hours at 130° F. If you do not have a dehydrator, you can simply dust your fresh peach slices with cinnamon and cardamom as a garnish.
Fill your drawstring tea bag or silk infusion bags with your selected spices about half way full. Secure the closure of the bag. If you do not have either type of bag, opt for a more traditional Spanish style Gin tonic, where they just throw botanicals straight into the glass. We used bags to keep from swallowing the botanicals whole.
Smack the infusion bag with a heavy object to release the aromatics of the infusion bags contents'.
Drop your infusion bag into your glass and fill with 2 oz. of NOLET'S Silver Gin and allow to infuse without ice momentarily. The longer, the better.
Add ice to your gin filled glass and stir with a bar spoon.
Top with 5-6 oz. of quality tonic water.
Garnish with fresh peach slices and a cinnamon stick.
Pull the infusion bag to the surface to enjoy the aroma.
Cheers and don't forget to peach for the stars!
